:: A Kars rug from the third quarter of the 20th century displays oversized medallions arranged in a playful, asymmetrical rhythm across a muted field. The central field is anchored by large stepped lozenge forms with diamond detailing, flanked by smaller hexagonal accents and a broad, softly faded border that frames the composition. Abrashes add a lively, hand-drawn character to the overall design. Colors and shades include: Pale coffee brown, dusty pale bronze, dusty magenta, faded blush rose, faded cochineal red, platinum, antique ivory, sand, beige and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Multiple areas of professional re-pile. For processing purposes, this and other rugs of the type may have painted numbers on the reverse side. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
