Vintage African Bronze Casting of Pangolin

:: Vintage circa mid 20th century African bronze or brass casting sculpture of a pangolin (we believe) which is an endangered animal that are often called a “scaly anteaters” and are covered in tough, overlapping scales. They have an incredibly long sticky tongue and are able to quickly roll themselves up into a tight ball when they feel threatened. Very well made! Ashanti gold weights are also named Mbramoo and this may be an example of an Ashanti gold weight, used in the measuring of gold and gold dust.
