:: An Ersari rug from the late third quarter of the 20th century displays a field of repeating octagonal guls set in rows, each with a central cross motif framed by a stepped border, interspersed with small star-like accents. The composition is enclosed by a wide main border of repeating geometric elements and a narrower inner guard that echoes the fields motifs. The overall palette is muted earth tones with a quiet, graphic regularity. Colors and shades include: Brown, taupe, beige, charcoal, dark brown, olive, off-white, and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Afghani Ersari carpet made in Afghanistan circa 1970’s vintage. Size measures 7’11” x 12’10”.
