7.5×9 Antique Caucasian Soumac Carpet

:: Classic stylized horizontally oblong center medallion in slight diamond shaped contour, each with its own central cross-section view of a pomegranate atop a covered field with mirrored minor medallions. Geometric / rectilinear floral blossoms and tendrils perfectly balancing positive and neutral spacing similar to others of similar age and type. There appear double columns at either opposing side of the field, each with unique floral cross-sections in unpatterned repeat. Colors and shades include: Chocolate brown, jet black, madder root red, navy blue, mallard green, saffron yellow, sky blue, blush, dusty rose, and more. Condition notes: Isolated areas of wear and etching to foundation, namely those originating in the shades of dark chocolate and jet black. Original macramé‚ mostly intact on one end, light tatter to sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand woven Caucasian Soumac carpet made in the Caucasus region circa 1880’s vintage. Size measures 7’8″ x 8’10”.
