5×6.5 Antique Fereghan Rug

:: Single center medallion in staggered off-center mapping atop an allover covered field in a Herati motif. Classic Fereghan colors and weave, likely a transitional weave as a late Fereghan with old dye techniques. Some characteristics of the knotting are shared with newer weaves of the 1910 era, while the recess to the greens would indicate yesteryears / pre 1910 and earlier dye of older Fereghans. Colors and shades include: Madder root red, celadon green, mallard green, pistachio green, blush, sky blue, ivory, navy blue and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads with areas of isolated wear and etching to some colors and shades, namely those in the celadon green families, which is typical of rugs of this type, region, and era. Fully secured sides, secure ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
