4×6.5 Antique Silk Mohtashem Kashan Rug

:: Scarce example in all silk pile and foundation bearing a rare abundance of green, black, and unusual range of gem tone colors. Very finely woven, fully intact example. Colors and shades include: Antique ivory, powder blue, sapphire blue, pink, pale orange, rich aubergine, black charcoal, soft emerald green, brilliant gold, lavender and more. Condition notes: Even pile across the majority of the carpet with minor isolated areas of etching to main border ground color and some knot heads in the main field. No discernible powdering to the silk, although a slightly stiffer weave. Some remnants of restored fringes, mostly intact selvages, some interior mends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Mohtashem Kashan rug made in Persia circa 1890’s vintage.
