4.5×8 Antique Shirvan Rug

:: Unusual and stunning in many respects. Fantastic saturation of gem tones throughout. Slightly larger than typical or average weavings from the area, age, and overall genre. High level weaver sophistication and understanding of execution and design, with a near perfect balance between red and blue panels, making it difficult to ascertain what are the medallions versus what is the ground color. Another unique nuance includes the decision to change, or otherwise re-format, the planned design. Note the right side of the main image, closer to the end of the carpet, whereby a different design is partially implemented. Colors and shades include: Sky blue, powder blue, antique ivory, dusty gold, beige, cherry red, wine red, camel, sand, and more. Condition notes: Hard isolated areas of wear to the interior, professionally restored/restrung foundation, isolated etching to darker tones, otherwise even wear to knot heads across. Hard tatter to sides and one end. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
