4.5×7 Antique Bijar Rug

:: A Bijar rug from the late first quarter of the 20th century shows a dark field filled with an all-over Herati covered floral and palmette repeat centering a large diamond medallion. The main field is framed by a broad ivory ground border with stylized floral and leaf motifs in perpendicular direction adding to bold character. Colors and shades include: Cobalt blue, brick red, ivory, powder blue, blush pink, deep moss green, saffron yellow, and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. A few localized areas of repairs in varying degrees of expertise. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Bijar rug made in Persia circa 1920’s vintage. Size measures 4’7″ x 6’9″.
