3.5×5 Antique Caucasian Rug

:: Triple center medallion with shadow overlay contour enveloped by hook and latch / finned perimeter atop a covered field featuring design elements of starburst, checkered, geometric flowers, pinwheels, serpents, and crabs throughout. Inner minor border comprised of a Laleh Abassi (pawn design) while the main border is in a north west Persian Mir Serbend design. Outer minor border comprised of partial Laleh Abassi and wave motif. Dated in top right of the main border, likely reading right to left, 1321, corresponding to a rough weaving date of at or around 1903. Colors and shades include: Indigo blue, sky blue, terra cotta rust, madder root red, charcoal brown, antique ivory, pale beige gold, chocolate brown, and more. Condition notes: Three large holed areas, mainly isolated to the middle and right medallion, as seen in the main image. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
