:: A fragmented piece from a carpet of uncertain proportion, whether an area rug or a runner of great size, what remains is still a stunning example of a fine weave North East Persian. Main medallion with a central pomegranate motif atop a covered field in a Herati design. Fantastic abrashes in the corner spandrels. Pairing an intricate and tightly woven main field contrasted by a simplistic corner overlay with minimalist fill. Colors and shades include: Navy blue, dusty denim blue, terra cotta, blush, antique ivory, teal, sand, beige, faded saffron yellow, and silver. Condition notes: Mostly even pile across with areas of old and cleaned moth bites. Reduced from a carpet of larger proportions. Loose machine binding on one side, original plain weave intact. Mostly secure sides with light tatter. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Fine Meshed square rug fragment made in Persian circa 1910’s vintage. Size measures 4’11” x 5’1″.
